My birthday festivities at Brewer's Republic! I had two delicious beers- New Belgium Lips of Faith Cocoa Mole Ale and a O'Dells Myrcenary Double IPA. Then we went to the Rabbit Hole for dinner- cool place!
We followed that up with some Black Forest Torte for dessert. Excellent day!

Dinner at the Blue Star. Lots of tasty treats!
I wasn't pleased with the original picture so I had a little fun with it. I discovered a whole new set of fun filters and borders for pictures on Pixlr-o-matic - sort of an Instagram for use on a computer. Lots of fun and I find this picture to be more pleasing to me! I also love that the aqua color filter I used is called UFO.

I took the day off from work and spent the day with Andrea who is visiting this weekend. We had a fabulous lunch at Springs Orleans and sat outside on the patio at home and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I had Carl take this picture and he didn't use the flash so it's a little grainy and blurry, she didn't want me to use this one but it really was the best one because we were really laughing! I'm so glad that she lives close enough that we can visit without getting on a plane.

Worked on sorting stuff in the basement today. Which means I mostly wandered around wondering where to start. Found a toy for Maxx that he took care of in about 15 minutes. I also started working on my new throw pillow project- they are going to be so cool and really add some nice color to the living room! Picture of those soon!

This is not from Jorge's. We went there tonight because we heard that they had re-opened after being closed for remodeling for a year or so. The place was packed and they told us 45 minutes! I said "no thanks" which surprised the hostess. Then we went to the Loop where I had yummy tacos of the meat variety - I will be having vegetarian February so I'm finishing out my meat fest this month with some tasty treats.

Winter is hard. I thought that doing a picture a day was the hard part, but really what's hard is Winter. Not only is there not as much going on but I also get home when it's dark so my picture taking opportunities are severely limited! So I have to admit after last weeks game I had given up on the Broncos for this year. I just wanted them to get this game over with and be done for the season. So color me surprised when they came out and started playing a good game! Passing, catching and scoring- amazing! The play calling still drives me crazy (up the middle on 1st down every time) but boy did they mix things up a bit and finally seemed to "Unleash" Tebow! Then it went to overtime and the first play Tebow threw a pass (not a run up the middle!) Thomas caught it and took it in! I was screaming so loud my throat still hurts. Unbelievable!

The poinsettia problem. So my office at work has become the new home for 4 poinsettias - 2 huge and 2 medium sized. We had 5 but one died. I don't know what to do with them all as no one seems to want them and I can't throw away a living plant - I would feel too bad! Swede took one home today but no takers for the rest. Sharon says she's going to try and get customers to take them tomorrow but I don't know how much luck she will have with that. It's a little overwhelming - I think they have been giving me headaches - or maybe it's just work. :) They are pretty but it's just too much!

I finally put away the last of the Christmas decoration last night so tonight I got to fill my new china cabinet with stuff! Here is my glass fish dish collection that I have not had on display for about 4 years due to the kitchen remodel and then not having any space to display them. I love these, not sure what they are for really but I think they look cool. I have 6 of them all in different glass finishes. My favorite one is the iridescent carnival glass model featured a the center!

On Wednesdays we always do a little housecleaning so that we aren't stuck cleaning on the weekend. My new favorite thing is to wear my wireless headphones that I got from Carl for Christmas while I clean - makes everything way more fun!

We took down all the Christmas lights yesterday and put up what I like to call the Winter Lights. Just a nice set of lights to keep things festive now that the dreary days of winter are here. I really think Christmas should happen in February so that it's not over so quickly and then we have the long winter dragging on after - just my opinion!

It was a beautiful day today, sunny and warm so Maxx and I spent some time outside catching some rays.
Then we went inside and started dismantling the Christmas decorations. Maxx would really like to get his hands on the Jesus decoration that Carl made when he was a kid, but I didn't let him get it.
The only catastrophe of the day was the gingerbread house that I made last year collapsed when I was trying to store it away so I guess I need to make a new one next year!48, 17.

Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs. Unfortunately, the opening ceremonies were the best part of the game! This may have been the most boring game I have ever seen in person. The play calling was awful and the playing not great. I can't believe they have a playoff game after this. They really need to go away, figure out their game, draft some players and get a new coach. I am not a fan of this conservative defense based play calling. Take a chance every once in awhile, try for a field goal- jeez!
Anyway...
Then we got to meet Dawn and David at Watercourse for our Christmas Party dinner and gift exchange. That was fun! Here is David posing with his new wallet that we gave him!
