Another hike today - much nicer but still lots of climbing! Oh well this time it was worth it!

We went on a hike today which turned into a death march where I swear we went straight up a mountain. It turned out that we missed the trail and we were on some mining road or something - it was really hellish and super steep. Still pretty though- especially the pine trees that looked like they were decorated with yellow ornaments.

A bit of a rainy first real day of vacation but that's ok. We hung around town, bought some, groceries, did a little shopping and then had some beer!

I know, another work related picture- but these are super cool. Military Payment Certificates with fabulous colorful artwork. I have worked here 10 years but have never seen ones like these before- most MPCs that I have seen before have pretty ladies on them. MPC were issued from 1946-1973 in order to issue pay for military personnel stationed in foreign countries without using American currency.

I love this trade token, it has three cool things going for it. It's oval, it's a billiard parlor token and it has a 1/2¢ denomination. Super cool, should do well!

We finally got a few things done around here. New latch, hung our New Glarus sign, lamp glued and screwed and knobs for the entertainment cabinet. Yay!

Out for a night walk!
We've had Minnie for a week now and we love her so! We've been working on getting them used to each other and taking it slow due to Maxx being a bit dog selective. We got them together and it didn't go too well. Minnie put her paw on top of Maxx and then they froze, then scuffled a bit. I think we pushed it a little too soon so we are continuing on with the plan and will try again. We will finalize her adoption on Friday!

I take lots of pictures at work and today I photographed a large group of Civil War tokens. This is what they called a patriotic token and I really liked it due to the toning and imagery.
