Today we went to the Denver Modernism Show. Lots of cool stuff there- wish I had endless amounts of money. The artist "Shag"- Josh Agle was there and gave an interesting talk called "Work from Home- and Become a Millionaire Doing It". Interesting story and slide show of the development of his work. Love him!

You gotta love the fake check scammers - "Oh, I'm sorry, deposit the check and keep the $1500.00 you were supposed to get then wire the rest back to me." Right..
What I find hard to believe is that people still fall for this one all the time.
The bank routing number is wrong, otherwise the check really does look legitimate- watermarks and all.

Today Carl and I went to Pueblo for the finals of the Ford Vs. Mopar race that Carl helped organize this year. Carl had a lot of fun yesterday racing his car though he did not win. The mustang shown in the picture was the winner of the day. The final four cars were all Fords! This race was one of the best of the Ford-Mopar match-ups. Hopefully we will take part again next year and get more people out for the event.

Item of the day.
We get a lot of charms in at the shop as charm bracelets aren't as popular as they once were so people sell them for the bullion value. Some of the really cool charms have moveable parts. On this one the top of the chicken lifts up to show the chick inside- the bottom of the charm reads: NO COVER CHARGE. Super cute, I will be adding this to my charm collection!

I of course did not take this picture today but I forgot about it previously and so I had to add it! From one of the Saturday shows at Lollapalooza, I think it was Rise Against.
It is so hilarious to see the kids today wear the fine 80's fashions. This guy was rockin' his acid washed skin tight jeans! Where did he get the jeans??

Small Change
I decided to do the word of the day that was used for the blog done by Monica and her friends called 1 Year + Dictionary + Photography. I like to see how they all do the word of the day differently. Here is my offering.

Third day - and you can see we are exhausted. Andrea and I at our heat-stroking best! Don't we look pretty?? Holy crap was it hot, I don't remember a time when I have sweated more, truly disgusting. We saw Airborne Toxic Event, Paul Green's School of Rock All-Stars with Robert Earl Keen, Neko Case, Dan Auerbach, Snoop Dogg, and Jane's Addiction. My favorite of the weekend was Snoop- he puts on a show! Then we left, ran home changed and went to see Them Crooked Vultures- with Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme. They had some awesome songs but we were quickly overcome with the heat again due to the crowd. We snagged a cab out from under people who were fighting over the cab and went home. The whole weekend was really a long test of endurance with extreme heat (except for the rainy day). All in all, excellent fun!
92, 77 - once again I believe that it was really about 130 degrees- 92 is a lie.

The first day of Lollapalooza was a little bit rainy. Actually it was so rainy that we walked around wearing 55 gallon trashbags that went to our knees! It kept us warm and dry and thats all that really matters. We saw Eric Church, Thievery Corporation, part of Kings of Leon who sucked so bad that we went and saw Depeche Mode- who were actually pretty good- much better than when we saw them in 1987!
