I have worked at the coin store for 6 years now but I don't collect coins or paper money. The only thing numismatic related that I collect are tokens. Around 1885 merchants began issuing tokens to promote their businesses. Basically a metal coupon, tokens were issued in all different denominations or for glasses of beer or pints of milk, whatever the merchant was selling. I really like this token for Prima Beer. I sold one and I think I will buy the second one myself!

Well, fuck.
Got my first subpoena ever- how exciting for me. Carl and I have both been called to testify against our neighbor. I'm a little concerned about this because of his gang ties and how close we live to him. I didn't see anything and I can't identify anyone so I don't really know what the point is. That is the last time I ever talk to the Police.

We didn't plan on replacing the garbage disposal, but that's what happened. The only plan we had was to put up the fence in the back yard- we didn't get that finished due to the rain and the other problems that cropped up. We had 4 bent fence panels so we had to take those back to the store. Then the bathroom sink backed up so Carl had to fix that. While he was in the plumbing section at the hardware store he noticed these tablets that clean your disposal so he bought them. After he finished the bathroom sink he decided to clean the disposal. He put the tablet in and turned it on (without checking to see that nothing was in it) and blew out the side of the disposal with the measuring spoon that he ground up in there. So back to the store! Now we have a nice new disposal and a fixed bathroom sink (oh and a new toilet seat). Hooray!

Ok, I admit it, I love American Idol. The finale was on tonight and Adam did not win, Kris did. Kris is okay in a John Mayer/Dave Mathews kind of way but come on! Even he was shocked that Adam didn't win! I did like his version of Kanye's "Heartless".
Adam shown above on stage with KISS obviously- blew the roof off the dump in my opinion. He was so robbed.

When is a modern state quarter worth 8500 times it's face value? When it's a Mint Error graded in MS66 by NGC! The quarter is missing the top clad layer on the reverse - that is why it looks copper. I sold this quarter today at work on eBay for $2124.00. Is that crazy or what!! Keep your eye on your pocket change people!

On the way home we stopped just outside Salida and went for a walk near this river- don't know what it is called. There is so much water flowing everywhere from the spring runoff that the river was outside it's normal banks and these trees were surrounded.
Maxx in the crate in the back of the Scout on the way home. He looks so happy in this picture but actually he whined almost the whole time we were in the car with a few bouts of silence. We need to figure that one out if we are going to keep taking him places!

This was the first time we have taken Maxx on vacation with us so it was an adjustment! We didn't want to leave him alone in the cabin too much so we took him with us to Spring Creek Reservoir. Carl spent his time fishing and went out in the canoe. Maxx and I stayed on shore and played fetch and I read (and took pictures). I don't know what kind of birds those are in the second picture but they seemed so exotic for the mountains of Colorado. Great day!

Happy Mother's Day!
We had Carl's Mom over for brunch. I made quiche, cranberry scones and fresh fruit. The quiche was very good and I will definitely make it again.

This "art" car is in our neighborhood on our usual dog walking route. It is always blocking the sidewalk which always makes me want to kick it, but I don't think the owner would notice as there is so much crap on it. She recently added the colorful balls on the hood- she is a nut job and I will be featuring her house at a later date.
